A profile is a saved set of details or preferences that can be used again. An app may store a person's name and choices in a profile, or let someone choose different profiles for separate projects.
Think of it like having more than one settings card. One might describe how you want a work app to behave, while another holds preferences for a personal project.
The exact meaning depends on the app. A profile is only useful when you know which details it saves and when those details will be used.
