Human-in-the-loop means a person stays involved while an AI does a task. The person may set the goal, check the AI's work, or approve an important action before it happens.

For example, an AI might prepare an email reply, but wait for a person to review and send it. This gives the AI room to help while keeping a human in charge of the decision.

The person does not need to approve every tiny step. Teams choose checkpoints where a mistake could matter, such as spending money, changing important data, or contacting someone.
