Tabs are a row or group of choices that show one related section at a time. They work like dividers in a notebook: you can jump to a section without leaving the same place.

For example, an account page might have tabs for “Profile,” “Security,” and “Billing.” Selecting a tab replaces the content area with that section, while the other choices remain nearby.

Use tabs for a small number of sections that belong together. Give each tab a clear name and make the selected one easy to spot, so people know which information they are viewing.
