Bauhaus was a school in Germany, founded in 1919, that brought art, craft, and practical design together. The name is often used for a design movement that favored clear forms and thoughtful use of materials.

You may recognize the visual influence in simple geometry—circles, squares, and triangles—and layouts that try to make each part serve a purpose.

Bauhaus was more than a look made from primary colors and shapes. It was a wider approach to teaching and making things, so copying a few shapes does not reproduce the whole movement.
