A gradient is a smooth blend from one color to another. It is like the sky changing from pale orange near sunset into deep blue farther above.

Websites use gradients as backgrounds, borders, or decorative accents. A gentle blend can add depth to a large area without using a photograph.

The change is gradual, not a hard edge between colors.

Keep important words readable over the changing colors. A gradient can look attractive, but too many colors or strong contrasts may distract from the message.
