A cursor is the on-screen marker that shows where an action will happen. With a mouse, it may look like an arrow; while typing, it may be a blinking line between letters.
The cursor can change shape over a link or a text field to hint at what is possible. This small clue helps people understand whether they can click, type, or resize something.
Do not use a pointer shape to make plain text look clickable. A cursor hint is not a substitute for a clear label or a control that works with a keyboard and touch.
